"My sessions with Michael have changed my life. I won't go into the specifics, because they are personal, but I can say that he found a remedy that I was comfortable with and that worked, when my other doctors were baffled and willing to try extreme treatments that didn't guarantee a cure. In addition, he's helped me clear up my skin and lower back problems. AND when I had a surprise medical diagnosis that I was going to ignore from my other doctor, he suggested I get a second opinion from a specialist and I'm very happy I did. He's honest, realistic, caring, and compassionate, and I highly recommend him." - 5 Stars! - Tanya G., Los Angeles CA

Acupuncture entails the precise insertion of ultra-fine needles into specific points along meridians—an extensive network of channels running throughout the body. These meridians closely align with nerve pathways, facial tissue planes, and muscle attachments. Targeting acupuncture points activates the immune system and stimulates metabolic and healing processes, making it an effective therapy for a wide range of health conditions..
The benefit of custom herbal formulas is that it allows our practitioners to treat your specific constitutions and symptoms, with no side effects and for minimal cost compared to pharmaceutical medications. Additionally, the use of Herbal Medicine is preventative in addition to being able to treat acute conditions, so after taking an herbal formula, your body is actually stronger, more resilient, and more in balance than before.
We integrate the ancient diagnostic practices of East Asian Herbal Medicine with Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis. Utilizing the standard Functional Medicine Blood Matrix, we examine comprehensive blood panels to detect nutrient imbalances impacting health issue and overall health. Our approach restores balance through targeted nutrition, supplements, Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, bodywork, and lifestyle adjustments..
At NFC we understand and appreciate the importance of bodywork including tui na, a Chinese manipulative therapy used in conjunction with acupuncture, and herbal medicine. At the end of each session, your practitioner will assess your whole body and design a 5-15 min treatment with bodywork, manipulation, cranio-sacral, and myo-facioal release that will help to close your treatment with the most optimum and lasting success.
Cupping therapy is utilized at our clinic to promote overall wellness, enhance immune function, and alleviate pain in areas such as the neck, shoulders, legs, hips, and back. This treatment is incorporated into your hour-long acupuncture session at no additional cost, provided your practitioner determines it is appropriate for your specific needs.
Moxa, also known as moxibustion, is made from Artemisia vulgaris, an herb that is dried, ground, and sifted into a soft, cotton-like material. This material is then shaped into charcoal-like sticks or small cones with organic binders, which are applied to acupuncture points and ignited. The glowing ember never directly contacts the skin but transmits gentle warmth through its surface. This warmth has been shown to stimulate the body’s reproductive, endocrine, and digestive systems, promoting restoration and balance. Different forms of moxa offer distinct therapeutic benefits by warming and tonifying the body’s vital functions.
